Building outposts has become a popular activity in Starfield, just like shipbuilding. Players have the opportunity to showcase their creativity and come up with impressive ideas. With the wide range of stunning backgrounds available in star systems, players often prioritize both scenic and practical elements. Surprisingly, a player recently shared their outpost creation on Reddit, which many of us didn’t expect to see.
Starfield enthusiast ‘Caliartist’ posted screenshots on Reddit featuring a long, indoor pier-style hab structure extending into the water of a ‘Coast’ biome area on the planet Sumati in the Narion star system. The outpost starts with an Airlock module at the coastline, followed by a standard hab structure, and then connects to a series of Hydroponic hab modules, reaching the edge of the outpost perimeter.

While the outpost appears impressive from above, the interior is even more inspiring and motivates some of us to replicate it at our own outposts. Fortunately, this can be done on any planet with a similar biome.
‘Caliartist’ mentioned in the discussion that the water source, whether it’s a lake or ocean, must be shallow enough at the coastline to support the foundations of the hab modules, as they directly connect to the seafloor. If the chosen spot is too deep, the modules will sink underwater.

Even though it may be possible to connect modules to create an underwater facility like in Subnautica, it’s unclear how the game would function in such a scenario. It would be fascinating to see if someone will attempt it. Starfield has proven to be an immersive and creatively limitless space for players to explore.
