Electronic Arts and DICE have unveiled details about the upcoming sixth season of Battlefield 2042, titled “Dark Creations”. While specific information about the season is currently limited, it has been confirmed that it will feature a new map with close-quarters combat, as well as new weapons, gadgets, and Battle Pass items. According to the provided description, Season 6 will be the darkest and most intense season yet, set to begin on October 10.
The story of Season 6 appears to revolve around a laboratory where soldiers have been subjected to experiments and transformed into aggressive, zombie-like creatures. This theme aligns well with the approaching Halloween season.
A gameplay trailer for Season 6 is scheduled to be released on October 5, which will likely provide more details about the new content. In addition, Criterion, the developer behind Need for Speed, has joined the team working on the next Battlefield game.
Criterion has previously collaborated on the development of Battlefield 2042, as well as Battlefield V and Star Wars: Battlefront II, making them a valuable addition to the project.
Although Battlefield 2042 received mixed reviews upon its release in 2021 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Electronic Arts has remained committed to improving the game through its ongoing seasons.
