Tracing the Lumitoile locations of the Genshin Impact takes you to the northern tip of Fontaine and deep into the Liffey region. To farm effectively you need to teleport quite a bit, so it’s a good idea to lay the groundwork by activating all nearby waypoints during your first run.
If you have rolled through Nevillette but have not yet reached Fontaine, you are in luck. A few waypoints are automatically unlocked, and you will be able to explore the region and swim underwater without reaching a certain adventure rank or completing archon quests.

Lumitoile Places – West Coast
After update 4.1, you should be able to quickly access the Liffey region via a waypoint that unlocks automatically. It is just northeast of the Echoes of the Deep Tides Domain, on the southern shore of the region’s lake, and places you near a Statue of the Seven, which you can use for future farming campaigns.
There is a small collection of five Lumitoile just to the east, so glide down from the Statue of Seven and grab them before moving on.
The next point is west of the Statue. You can get there the first time by traveling along the path, which will take you near two Fatui camps.
Cross the river near the waterfall, and travel along the path until you reach another waypoint. You can use it to get to the nearby Lumitoile faster next time. However, make sure you are prepared for battle. The Fatui will have respawned by the time you return for more Lumitoile.
Descend from the waypoint to the coast and pick up the Lumitoile there.
Location of Lumitoile – East bank
Cross the lake and activate the waypoint on the east shore. Head southeast along the shore, ignoring or fighting the Fatui operatives, and pick up the Lumitoile along the way as you go. The interactive map shows them as below the surface of the water, but in reality they are not. Turn right at the ruined bridge and look along the shore for three more Lumitoile.
The interactive map and, if you have Lyney in your party, the in-game map show one or two underwater resources near the piece of land with three Hydro Devices, but it looks like that might be a glitch. I couldn’t find them, and then the in-game marker disappeared when I picked up some mint.
In either case, head back to the shore waypoint, then travel north along the shore, collecting Lumitoile as you go. Activate the north shore waypoint and continue traveling along the shore in search of more Lumitoile.
The next group of Lumitoile is a little harder to find.
Location of Lumitoile – Underwater
Activate underwater waypoints in the Liffey region during your first run to make subsequent growing trips more efficient.
About half of the underwater Lumitoile cling to the metal ruins you will swim through, so they are a bit harder to spot at first. Some in the more southerly areas are just on the lake bed, but a general rule of thumb is that if there is metal nearby, the Lumitoile are probably on it.
For this section, dive from the western shore waypoint. Start at the top of the tower – take the Hydroculus if you haven’t already – and work your way down. You’ll see the telltale flashes as you descend, and you may want to disable the tower’s spotlights first if you have trouble dodging them.
Return to the waypoint, and repeat the process for the following sections.
Use the waypoints in the center of the lake bed to collect the rest, and take the last one at the entrance to Meropede Fortress.
Speaking of the Fortress, there is a strip of Lumitoile at what looks like the same depth as the fortress, but under the eastern shore waypoint. I haven’t figured out how to get there yet, though it may be related to a story mission.
