Gran Turismo Sport will not be available after January 31

Gran Turismo Sport, although not a numbered entry, is the seventh game in the main Gran Turismo franchise. Unlike its critically acclaimed predecessors and best-selling games on PlayStation, Gran Turismo Sport received mixed reviews upon its release.

The game’s mixed reception can be attributed to its emphasis on online multiplayer. While some reviewers appreciated Gran Turismo Sport’s online multiplayer modes, others expressed disappointment over the limited number of tracks and cars, making it have less content at launch compared to other games in the series.

Regrettably, after January 31, 2024, players who enjoy Gran Turismo Sport and its various online modes will no longer have access to them.

Prior to the online multiplayer shutdown, all of Gran Turismo Sport’s downloadable content (DLC) will be removed on December 1, 2023. The affected online modes include Community, Open Lobby, and the flagship Sport Mode.

After the shutdown date, community creations will also be inaccessible. However, Gran Turismo Sport’s offline modes will still be available, and users can still redownload any previously purchased DLC.

Sony’s decision to shut down the online features of Gran Turismo Sport means that certain in-game trophies will become unobtainable starting January 31. Players aiming for the Gran Turismo Sport Platinum trophy should prioritize playing the game as soon as possible to ensure completion before the removal date.

Gran Turismo Sport is currently available for PS4.
