The Hostile Intelligence mission in Starfield is part of the UC Vanguard series of side quests. In this mission, your objective is to head to Londinion to collect Aceles gene samples. To complete the mission, you’ll need to follow Hadrian, who will guide you through the mission. One decision point in the mission involves choosing between using the Aceles gene samples or deploying the microbe.
By now you’ve already spent a lot of time with the UC Vanguard in Starfield, however your time completing high-risk missions for them will soon come to an end. First, however, you have to do a little more research in the mission “Hostile Intelligence”, in which you will come face to face with a bunch of Terrormorphs.
After learning that the Aceles is a creature that actually feeds on Terrormorphs, you will be sent to collect some tissue samples that will help in the creature’s reproduction process. However, you’ll end up learning a lot more than you expected, so here’s how to complete the UC Vanguard “Hostile Intelligence” mission in Starfield.
Here’s a brief guide on how to complete the Hostile Intelligence mission in Starfield:
- Follow Hadrian: At the start of the mission, follow Hadrian, who will be your guide throughout the quest.
- Choice: During the mission, Hadrian will ask you to make a choice between using the Aceles gene samples or deploying the microbe. The choice you make can affect the mission’s outcome, so choose carefully based on your gameplay preferences.
- Collect Aceles Gene Samples: If you choose to collect Aceles gene samples, follow the objectives to gather them in Londinion.
- Complete Objectives: Proceed with the mission objectives, which may involve combat encounters, interactions with NPCs, and exploration.
- Mission Conclusion: Continue to follow the mission’s storyline until its conclusion, which will depend on the choices you made during the mission.

Hostile Intelligence Mission Guide in Starfield
Start the quest “Hostile Intelligence” by speaking to Hadrian at the Red Devils Headquarters. She will tell him everything about Aceles; the only creature that is a predator of Terrormorphs, and the possible answer to our Terrormorph problem.
That being said, if we are going to use the Aceles to stop the Dreadmorph invasion, we first need to collect some Aceles samples from Londinion. Londinion is also going to be very dangerous, so make sure you gear up first.
Speak to Lieutenant Azevedo at the Red Devils Headquarters to purchase any new equipment you need and to stock up on medicine and ammunition. Next, board your ship and head to Advanced Base 441 in the Toliman system.
You’ll have to accept a greeting from UC Sec Longsword II along the way; Tell them you have a meeting with Commander Hatoum, and then you can land.
Follow the quest marker to speak with Commander Hatoum.
An exploration plan for Londinion will then be discussed with the entire team, and you will be given another last chance to equip yourself for the mission ahead. We recommend doing this before telling Hadrian you’re ready, as there are tons of free gear available for you to pick up.
When you are fully prepared, tell Hadrian that you are ready to leave and wait for Kaiser to unlock the airlock. When he has done so, he flips the nearby power switch and proceeds through the airlock. Once you come out the other side of the airlock, prepare to face a bunch of Terrormorphs.
Clear the abandoned processing plant of Terrormorphs and continue following your quest marker around the area. Then you will reach a scrapyard with more enemies; Kill them and remember to loot the Aceles samples from their bodies.
Once you’ve taken care of them, give the samples to Kaiser and listen to what he has to tell you. His next stop will be the spaceport, but he will have to navigate the steam tunnels to get there.
After entering the steam tunnels, kill the leeches that appear and continue forward. He will eventually reach a control station with a large glass window; look through it. The stuff of nightmares will happen, where a Heatleech instantly transforms into a Terrormorph.
Once the dialogue here is over, head into the next room and kill the Terrormorph. Collect the Metamorphosed Tissue Sample from him, give it to Kaiser, and listen to the team’s discussion.
After the discussion, follow Kaiser to the exit, which has no power. Follow your quest marker to the next room, just up the stairs, and turn on the Utility Controls. Wait a moment and you will have to press a big red button in the same room to initiate a system reset.
After the reset, a message from the emergency recorder will play. This recording will reveal Vae Victis’ involvement in Londinion; how he knew about the Terrormorph outbreak, and how he ended up killing dozens of civilians trying to keep it a secret, even considering how to use it as a weapon.
When the recording ends, pick it up and talk to Hadrian. She goes back to Kaiser, wait for him to unlock the door and leave.
Outside, one last Terrormorph awaits us to kill. So run to your quest marker and take care of him. As usual, collect the last sample from the beast’s corpse and deliver it to Kaiser.
After this, you will be able to return to Outpost 441 and speak with Dr. Percival Walker face to face. His time investigating “Hostile Intelligence” will be over, and it is time for him to complete “A Forged Legacy.”
