Sega has unveiled new information and a few fresh screenshots of the upcoming Yakuza game, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
Let’s start with a look at the subquests. Since the protagonist Kazuma Kiryu is working with the versatile Akame in Sotenbori, he will receive various requests that deviate from the main story.
Below, you can see the dedicated menu for subquests, which displays a map with relevant locations and descriptions for each quest.
In some of the sidequests, familiar characters from the series and even unexpected individuals from other franchises will appear.
In the screenshot above, you can see Kiryu meeting a recognizable “flashy old lady” named Etsuko, who has previously appeared in various Yakuza/Like a Dragon games.
At the top of this post, you can also see another screenshot showing a meeting with another familiar face. This character is described as a “rough ma hailing from Kamurochi,” and it’s none other than Kaito, the beloved sidekick from the Judgment series.
Since the two series share the same setting, this shouldn’t come as a shock, but it’s a nice tribute to the fact that they coexist in the same world.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will launch on November 9 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
