The October is already knocking on the door and that means? That’s right: for members of PlayStation Plus, there will soon be new “free” games for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. As usual, a total of three games will be added to the PlayStation Plus Essentials library.–>
After a leak from the well-known insider billbil-kun already revealed two of the three games in advance on Tuesday, Sony now officially followed suit. In October, PlayStation gamers can expect horror in outer space, tranquility on the farm and a wacky western game.
PS Plus: The “free” games in October 2023 at a glance
Of course, in order to be able to download the games without any additional costs, you must first and foremost have a PlayStation Plus Essential subscription. Furthermore, the October offer will be updated on Tuesday, October 3. Then, according to Sony, you can already look forward to these three games, which will subsequently be available until November 6:
The list already gives it away, but PlayStation players can expect a pretty exciting contrast program in October. With The Callisto Protocol you can expect a game in the spirit of Dead Space, meaning it will be very horror-heavy in space on the one hand and quite brutal on the other. This is not surprising, because Glen Schofield, one of the creators of Dead Space, was significantly involved in the development. Recently, however, he left the responsible developer studio Striking Distance.
Meanwhile, Farming Simulator 22 is the complete opposite of the horror adventure in space and delivers more or less exactly what the title suggests. You become a farmer, cultivate fields, drive tractors and other heavyweights, take care of animals and try to earn lots of grit. In the meantime, the franchise has really established itself and, by the way, is extremely popular.
The third game in the bunch is Weird West, an immersive sim penned by Raphaël Colantonio. He has previously been involved in Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Dishonored and Prey. In Weird West you will experience ffive stories each with its own characters from an iso-perspective, while you will get a great player freedom in the approach. Thus, it is completely up to you whether you sneak, fight or rely on a mixture of both to reach your goal.
Until October 3, the first day of new games, you can take your time and take a look at the previous month’s PS Plus “free” games. If you haven’t already secured them.
