With the assumption of Sony’s top position in the company’s PlayStation division, Jim Ryan replaced the previous president, John Kodera, in 2019. The latter initially filled the role of deputy president before turning his back on the company in 2021. Back in 1994, Ryan began his service with the company’s European division, which at the time still operated under the name Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Sony’s CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida, concludes by describing Ryan as“inspiring leadership”and with the PlayStation Remote Player still to come by the end of the year, the realization of the last major project of his tenure.
