In Chapter 6, Ada needs to reach the Comms Tower as part of Wesker’s orders. However, she must navigate a facility filled with secrets and encounter the dangerous Martinico. Conventional weapons are ineffective against this creature, making evasion and escape her only option. The sequence involves luring Martinico towards its weak point, the Laser Room from the original game. While it can be challenging to speedrun, a trick has been uncovered that streamlines the process.

A player named ‘BladerKoyotte’ (known as ‘KoyMiscellanious’ on YouTube) recently shared this trick on Reddit to assist fellow speedrunners. In their video, they reveal a simple yet easily overlooked secret that can only be done if you have at least one grenade or blast arrow.

Usually, during the chase sequence with Martinico, Ada turns the pump wheel to stop the gas leak, then runs through bulkhead doors to escape the monster temporarily. Afterward, she crawls through a sewage-filled passage to continue the sequence. However, KoyMiscellanious’ trick involves running past the bulkhead doors to a breakable concrete wall on the right side of the hallway. Using a single grenade or blast arrow, the wall crumbles, revealing another partially-open bulkhead for Ada to pass through. Martinico will attempt to grab Ada as usual, but she will be free momentarily.

After passing through the opening in the wall, immediately proceed two steps forward to the left. This shortcuts the vent crawl section of the chase. While it may seem insignificant, every minute saved is crucial for achieving an S+ Rank completion. Shaving off time allows for more challenging tasks or fights later on.

That concludes our guide on how to speedrun the Martinico sequence in RE4 Remake Separate Ways. Thanks to KoyMiscellanious, and if you discover any other useful secrets during your speedruns, be sure to share them with us.
